Hello!
As this unique situation continues, we hope you and your family are staying healthy and safe. I am happy to announce Branches of Wellness Acupuncture is re-opening May 26. I have listened and researched from various sources of how to reopen a business during this time and we are ready for you! I contacted SLO county public health department last week to ask where acupuncturist fit in the realm of public health and here is the response:
“Dr. Borenstein said acupuncture counts as medical which is allowed per the provider’s discretion and if they have proper PPE.” As of now, our office has enough PPE to feel confident that we are running a safe environment for you.
When Covid-19 hit the US, acupuncturists nationally/internationally were calling each other, texting, Facebook-ing, LinkedIn-ing, Instagram-ing, calling our national and state level acupuncture boards about: “What are we supposed to do in our profession with Covid-19?” After being glued to my devices for 3 days, I decided to close my practice temporarily. It was the right thing to do and I am grateful you all understand. Now it’s time to begin our new normal slowly.
We will be calling everyone who was scheduled from March 18 to the present to help reschedule you if you would like. You are welcome to call as well. We honor your appointment preference during this time.
Office Changes
The workflow will be very different/modified to follow smart guidelines to protect our health. Only one patient is allowed in the office at a time. This allows us to clean and keep up with physical distancing. We at BOWAcupuncture want you to feel safe and comfortable during your acupuncture treatment. We will have you wait in your car until we call you to come in. Please let us know if you do not have a cell phone and we will figure something out! Jenny will be opening and closing doors for you (except bathroom of course!). Please see our Covid-19 office agreement/guidelines document attached to help you understand our precautions to keep us all safe in our office environment. We will send this to you via email attached to your appointment reminder. Please read, answer questions, and sign, before you arrive to office.
We will not allow anyone in the office with current or recent history of cold/flu symptoms in the past 20 days before your appointment.
Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Recommendations Re-opening Facilities to Provide Non-emergent Non-COVID-19 Healthcare: Phase I
“All facilities should continually evaluate whether their region remains a low risk of incidence and should be prepared to cease non-essential procedures if there is a surge. By following the above recommendations (adequate supplies, available testing, sanitation protocols), flexibility can allow for safely extending in-person non-emergent care in select communities and facilities.” Despite the hardship, stress, and loss due to Covid-19, we are witnessing a huge worldly example of how we are connected to one another. Covid-19 sees no border or nationality and has united us locally and globally. Keep safe, healthy, and support one another!
See you all soon! Yeah!
