Covid-19 Health Updates 4/14/20

I am under information overload! I am sure you feel the same way. But it is very
important to stay educated as new information is released. New facts about
masks, herbs, supplements, medications, rules about our social behavior, Covid-19 positive cases and deaths, local to international news, and even rules at thegrocery, park closures etc. Keep cheerleading on with positive gratitude daily, stay home as much as possible. Please see the links below, Qigong
recommendation, virtual yoga is everywhere online, meditation apps and my
favorite music right now with meditation. Some repeated info about Branches of
Wellness Acupuncture. In regards to elderberry, please read Dr. Song’s
research on this…Keep in mind, research is changing almost daily in regards to
Covid-19~

New links to read: These excellent doctors researched Covid-19 and give us a
detailed perspective. I posted these on Branches of Wellness Acupuncture
website, Facebook/Instagram pages too:
1. Dr. Elisa Song, MD: Healthy Happy Kids, “Coronavirus:
What a pediatrician wants you to know,” check out her blog
2. Dr. Terry Wahls, MD: What You Can do to Reduce Your Risk of Complications

Try something new like Qigong! Check out the links at end of newsletter!
HoldenQigong.com
Also you can go to YouTube and search my teacher Lee Holden: “20 Minute
Morning Qi Gong Exercise by Lee Holden” He has many other videos to follow.
Qigong is active meditation with breath; it feels like you had an acupuncture
treatment after qigong. By moving our own Qi energy, we create movement in
our circulation, we create our own body heat, release stress and pain, and we
become one with our bodies and mind.

Another master teacher and educator in traditional Chinese medicine/acupuncture is Peter Deadman. He created a YouTube video to help strengthen lungs and help recover from Covid-19:
“In view of the lung-targeting coronavirus, I’ve made this 20-minute video of three qigong practices to help strengthen the lung: 1. deep, slow, lower abdominal breathing, 2. two qigong movements to benefit the lung, 3. slapping and massaging the lung channel/meridian and the chest.”

Meditate daily! Apps like Calm and Head Space are great. There are many
world prayers to look for as well listed in social media. Check out Sky Redhawk’s sounds, native flute music on YouTube. He brings nature in your body~

Since it is Spring, that means it is so beautiful outside full of wildflowers, grasses, and oak blooms; and also it means that seasonal allergies have sprung as well as ticks. Please have D-Hist and/or Chinese herbs Clear Sinus ready so you don’t get an infection. Please check yourself and your dogs for ticks after hiking/walking!

Face Masks: should I wear one? Yes if you are going out into public. Please
see link below if you want to make your own or support someone in your neighborhood who makes them.

Asymptomatic carrier rate is between 25-50% and transmission could
occur just talking to these individuals. Thus, wear a mask. Save surgical
masks and N95 masks for healthcare professionals, please donate them!
Physical distancing is our primary way of preventing COVID-19.

Recommended herbs/supplements to modulate your immune system:
Buffered Vitamin C dose: 2,000mg/day

NOTE: Elderberry: please read Dr. Elisa Song’s research on elderberry and Covid-19 in listed article above. Usually elderberry is a wonderful natural remedy for keeping cold/flu away, but in Covid-19 case, we should avoid it at this time, due to the nature of the cytokine storm with the virus. There is further research on this now.

Vitamin D3/K2 dose: 5,000-10,000 IU/day, can increase to 20,000-50,000 if you
feel like you are getting sick (for example: 50,000 IU/day for 3 days if you feel
initial onset of cold/flu and then taper down to 10,000IU)

Zinc

Cod liver oil (naturally occurring Vitamin A and D)
(other supplements that are great for boosting immunity like Lysine, Quercetin,

Glutathione, CoQ10, CBD full-spectrum, etc.)

Immuplex: Immune boosting glandular whole food multi-vitamin

Cellular Vitality: food based multi

Magnesium: calm stress, help sleep, relax muscles, boosts immunity

Herbs: (many wonderful herbs to kill virus/bacteria)

Gan Mao Ling or Yin Qiao yes! Take if you are around sick people, traveling,
and if you have initial onset symptoms (take 4 pills 3-4x/day for 3-5 days
depending on your symptoms)

Cordyceps, Echinacea, Astragalus (antiviral), ginsengs to regulate immunity.
Stop if you get sick; we would need to change herbs to Lonicera, Andrographis,
and other clear toxin/virus herbs

Viracid from Orthomolecular, antiviral blend

Herbal Throat Spray from Standard Process or Thieves by Young Living
(coronavirus attaches itself to throat nasal/throat tissue and can stay up to 2 days before creeping down into the lungs. This is why netti pot daily is excellent and an herbal throat spray can kill virus on contact)

Oregano Oil 5 drops 2x/day (anti-viral)

Olive Leaf Extract (anti-infection)

Lonicera Complex/Honeysuckle Flower: expels and lessens symptoms
of the cold and flu. Supports lungs

Andrographis aka Chuan Xin Lian: kills viral toxin

Lifestyle:
Eat whole foods
Exercise outdoors
Sleep
Make your own bone broth (website has recipe/info) and drink/make soup
Drink 1/2 your weight in ounces of water/day
Dry brushing your skin to cleanse
Netti Pot daily with saline
And we all know about washing our hands and sneezing in our elbow!

Take charge of your health and keep strong!

Please take a time out from your devices and the news for one day/week.

Refresh yourself!

We miss you dearly!
